the abyss means...
1) The M25 is often busier at 10.30 in the morning than it is at 8.30.
2) Thumb wars is sometimes the best solution to an unsolvable problem.
3) Endnote isn't half bad, and NUD*IST is great.
4) The best way to make your boss happy appears to be informing them of two days of compulsory holiday that they did not know about (bank holiday plus 1).
5) The impressive beard that has attached itself to my workmate's face over the last few weeks is set to grow larger. He has sworn not to touch it for a year...
6) Use rags to get ringlets. (These are important for pirate dressing.)
7) Another workmate once tried to poison her sister’s pet budgie. From the sounds of it she accidentally used food colouring and dyed the bird's beak green.
8) Never trust any professor who promises to do some work for you by a specific date. Always add at least a fortnight to two months (depending on the size of the task).
9) Poster printing machines can be very fickle.
10) I can be impressively persuasive when I try, but sometimes people are mad forever. (But others just keep getting better!)
and for a bonus point
11) That I would be asked to do something in a game that is so very similar to something I have done recently anyway!

It's not just professor's you know - I'd say any member of faculty!!! Especially during the summer, when they're all off visiting Venice and the like.

It is very, very irritating. I was promised work by yesterday, and I got an email today to say that he is now on holiday until September...
Slow, slow, slow.

Tut! We don't "visit Venice," we "attend meetings in Venice". Irritatingly, I really didn't see the sights.
And I was very pleased when I officially renounced sysadmining and could go back to being clean shaven, hoorah.
