the abyss means...

(I have been given permission to write about this by the person it happened to. This is one of my favourite stories.)

So, my friend was at a party several years ago.

He had his bag stolen.

Two days later there was a call from the local Video Library:

"Someone has found your bag. There was one of our cards in it, so they brought it here. Would you like to come down and pick it up."

And so he did.

Suprisingly, his wallet was still in the bag. As were his keys, money, cards, clothes etc.

There were only two items missing.

A pack of playing cards

and

A tube of Preparation H.*

We never got to find out why. I suspect we don't want to know.

* Very Important Note: Preparation H is argued by some to be good to put onto new tattoos to help them heal. This was why he had some in his bag. Not because of a hemorrhoid problem.
