the abyss means...
I went to the Brighton Storytellers Group (this month: Urban Graffiti) on Sunday with hecticjames.
Yet again I had a lovely time, and my random stories seemed popular.
I wish I was a little bit less nervous about actually getting up and telling stories though...
I thought perhaps if I won the lottery I could do a course. Or else I could go beyond the border or to the edge
But I'll probably just go to Glastonbury...

Any chance of you writing these stories down, then, or does "random" mean "improvised"? (And would writing it down go against the whole point of storytelling, anyway?)

For 'random' in this instance read 'anecdotal' (and I think I have already written at least one of them down on this site!).
But yes, storytelling is a different beast to written stories. On is the magic of telling with your mannerisms adding to, and accentuating, the story in order to draw in people's attention. The other is the skill of telling a story using words and words alone.
I'm not as confident as I should be with the written word either...
